It’s October and it’s time to advance!!

Let the Autumn Rains Fall

Hello, my friends,


I don’t claim to be a theologian or an expert on the Jewish feasts, but I do consider special the beginning of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. Happy New Year! All around the world, October 2 - October 4, 2024 is the beginning of the Jewish year 5785.


Rosh Hashanah represents the beginning of the Jewish New Year, translating from Hebrew to mean the “head” of the year. It's commemorated with special prayers, foods and gatherings.

 

It is also significant that Israel is at war right now. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We pray that God is close to the brokenhearted and a very near and present help to His people.


How interesting that, at the same time Israel is suffering and in a time of great distress, this is also a time of year for celebration.


As Christians, we follow Jesus, who was himself Jewish, and we have much to look forward to as the Jewish year 5785 descends upon God’s master calendar.


The number “5” is significant this year, and there is much to be said prophetically about this being a time of repentance, grace, praise, empowerment and God’s hand moving among us and for us.

I want to encourage you that the world needs you now more than ever. You may be burdened by personal concerns, afraid to step out in hope and faith, or even unsure of what your next step should be. However, I want to encourage you in the midst of things not being perfect, similar to how Israel itself is both in a time of war and a time of celebration, that it’s TIME to ADVANCE!


It’s on my heart to tell you to MOVE! Your time of sitting is over. You may have been stuck or stagnant for far too long. Take this fresh new year, take time to repent and get quiet, get alone with God and ask him for your marching orders.

 

Advancing can be difficult when we believe we are alone.


You are not alone.


When I think of “advancing,” I think of us as an army of believers rising up to take our place, doing only and exactly what God has commissioned and called us to do. I see us taking hold of all He has for us and not allowing fears, doubts, insecurities and lack of resources to slow us down.


Wait on God’s specific timing and move in peace, but whatever you do, make a plan to ADVANCE.
